Aqualyx

Aqualyx

Aqualyx is a new injection designed to dissolve fat from the body and expel it through urine. Developed by a weight-loss clinic in London in 2009, Aqualyx is globally available and has been used in over 2 million ampoules to treat patients in 49 countries. The cost of the injection is approximately $1,400, and patients can lose between 8 to 10 kilograms within three weeks of the procedure.

Mechanism of Action

The active ingredient in Aqualyx is deoxycholic acid, which emulsifies fat, turning it into a liquid form that the body can easily eliminate through urine. The treatment involves local injections into fat deposits such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, and buttocks. Once injected, deoxycholic acid begins to break down fat.

The injection also contains plant-based polymers with selective properties that bypass the cell walls of non-fat tissues, penetrate fat cells, and initiate the fat-breaking process. Over the course of three weeks, the body naturally expels the dissolved fat via urine.
